As another holiday season is upon us, the team at Barry’s Moving would like to thank everyone that moved to, from, and around Victoria and the surrounding neighborhoods for your continued patronage, and for placing your trust in us to move or store your home, office, with care and efficiency.

We know that 2021 was another strange year, but we stay hopeful knowing that the people of Victoria, Vancouver Island and BC come together for each other in times of need. We hope that you and your friends and family have an amazing, relaxing, and joyous holiday season and we look forward to working with you for many more years.

It is almost shorts weather! And Barry's is ready for another summer of moving.

Remember, our busiest times are at the end of the month and on weekends, especially during the summer months, so remember to book well in advanced if you can.

Please note, due to the ongoing pandemic, we are not offering packing services. You must be packed and ready to go on Move Day. Also, we continue to implement all our other covid-19 policies during this time, and for the foreseeable future.

Again, a very special thanks to all the front line workers for all their hard work this past year.

Barry's Moving

With the new social lockdown announced by the BC Government, Barry's continues to monitor and implement new policies at this time to do our part to mitigate the spread of Covid-19 while we remain in operation during this uncertain time. We are doing the following:

  • Booking only essential residential moves that are 1 bedroom or larger;

  • Booking only 1 residential move per day, per truck and crew, to minimize daily contacts and to minimize risk of transmission;

  • Aiming to stay local in our Victoria BC community, unless the situation is dire and deemed essential;

  • Suspending Packing Services, to reduce contacts of personal belongings that may have higher chance of potential spread (example bathroom, kitchen items);

  • Briefing staff on cleanliness measures to be taken before, during, and after moves;

  • Stocking our moving trucks with PPE (Hand sanitizer, masks, gloves) and using them when required as per WorkSafe guidelines;

  • Working closely with customers to minimize the risk to those most vulnerable, including elders and the immunocompromised;

  • Ensuring staff experiencing symptoms are supported in staying home and self-isolating; and

  • Offering quick and comprehensive quotes over the phone and via email.

We are booking up faster than usual since we have to spread out our moves more, and we have to take more time to ensure proper steps are taken. We ask our customers to book well in advance of their move date and continue to treat our staff politely and respectful as we do our best to navigate through this time.
